The thoughts emerging in your mind provide the basis for your future action. If you think of nothing else except misery and proverty, that will intensify you misery and proverty. Conversely, nobody can be happy unless he firmly holds in his mind the idea of happiness. The mind is like a field where some thoughts or other always keeps growing, causing us happiness or misery.
